Taylor Kirk’s Canadian creep-folk act Timber Timbre makes the kind of music that is both soothing and haunting all at once. Timber Timbre’s much loved third record Hot Dreams (2014) was short-listed for the Polaris Music Prize & got a JUNO Award nomination. Now Timber Timbre are back with news of a fourth album and a new video along with it. The new album is due out this spring and titled Sincerely, Future Pollution. The first single? A moody track titled “Sewer Blues” with a hazy lo-fi video directed by Karl Lemieux to match. As Kirk explains in a press release…

“2016 was a very difficult time to observe. I hate to admit that normally I express more sensitivity than concern politically, but I think the tone and result on the record is utter chaos and confusion. When we were recording, the premonition was that the events we saw unfolding were an elaborate hoax. But the mockery made of our power system spawned a lot of dark, dystopic thoughts and ideas. And then it all happened, while everyone was on Instagram. The sewers overflowed.”
