This spring, Toronto four-piece PONY will release their debut 7″ on Buzz Records. They’ve already shared DIY and now they’ve dropped “Alone Tonight,” a track about shaking off that relationship dependency and realizing you’re better than that. As frontwoman Sam Bielanski told FADER

I wrote ‘Alone Tonight’ when I was in a super codependent/comfortable relationship. We would literally do the exact same thing every day, which included watching 5 or 6 episodes of Dragons Den on Netflix. I realized that we had absolutely nothing to talk about anymore and we just watched TV all the time to kind of hide the fact that maybe we weren’t ‘meant to be.’ It’s very much about how in the end I realized being alone, as scary as it was at the time, was way better than settling for someone who I basically just watched TV with.

Listen to “Alone Tonight” below.

PONY’s debut 7 inch is due out on Buzz Records, May 12th and “Alone Tonight” is available for purchase here. You can also catch them live April 22nd in Toronto at Lee’s Palace with Weaves and Casper Skulls.
