Oneohtrix Point Never has shared his highly anticipated music video for “Animals.” Starring Val Kilmer in a Nike track suit sat on the edge of a bed, the delightfully glitchy video was directed by Rick Alverson. The video premiered at a screening at the Hammer Museum in Los Angeles last night, October 18, to coincide with the opening of Ecco: The Videos of Oneohtrix Point Never and Related Works, an exhibition based on the music videos released by OPN producer Daniel Lopatin. The exhibition runs on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays through November 19, and all visits to the Hammer are always free.
Lopatin and Hammer Curator Aram Moshayedi will present Visual Cues and Eccojams, a discussion around “the formal concerns apparent in his musical work and the visual output” on November 9 at 7:30pm at the Hammer Museum. Tickets are available at the door on a first come basis.
