New Music: MINKS ‘By the Hedge’

Hawley Dunbar December 7, 2010 Music No Comments

Brooklyn’s newest lo-fi indie import Minks have been gaining headway slowly networking with similar bands like Dum Dum Girls and GIRLS who they’re about to tour with in 2011.

Signed to Captured Tracks, the band puts yet another swing on the ever popular gothic Brit new wave sound with synth heavy choruses, sharp basslines, and of course, little amounts of production. We haven’t heard the full album yet, but enjoy the tracks we’ve heard so far, especially “Cemetery Rain”, and it’s safe to say that those who adore the likes of The Drums, Wild Nothing, and Bishop Morocco will end up jamming out to Minks sooner or later.

Check out their latest video for “Funeral Song” and the tracklisting from their debut album By The Hedge set to drop in January below.

Tracklisting:

1. Kusmi
2. Out of Tune
3. Life at Dusk
4. Indian Ocean
5. Funeral Song
6. Our Ritual
7. Cemetery Rain
8. Bruises
