Lana Del Rey “Tropico” Short Film

Lana-Del-Rey-Tropico

Lana Del Rey is really the only female in the game who’s killing it by just being herself. While other pop-tarts around her age are busy in crazy costumes, coloured wigs and behaving badly, Lana’s been keeping it simple. She’s been deeply immersed in ‘Tropico,’ a short film directed by  Anthony Mandler.

While we’ve followed along as the movie poster and trailers for ‘Tropico’ were all released we still weren’t sure what to expect, but it did not disappoint. It’s evident from early in the film that this was nothing short of a real passion project for LDR as she portrays a modern Eve. The press release for ‘Tropico’ reinforced this by calling it a “Biblical story of sin and redemption.” In fact, the story kicks off with her in the actual garden of Eden singing “Body Electric” with American legends watching, as you’d expect she bites into the apple which sends her flying into a her present-day story line – as a stripper.

As the plot thickens (we won’t give away too much), we become attached to the characters and the whole performance is insanely believable. At the screening for ‘Tropico’ in Hollywood on Wednesday night, Lana also told attendees that her upcoming sophomore album will be called “Ultraviolence,” which already sounds so cool.
