Brooklyn-based designer Kelly Clark is the antidote to fashion excess and the name behind the newish brand Keller. Grounded in simplicity, the line began in 2008 with the intent to create pieces that were both effective and subtle. Clark’s diverse background in multi-format visual art and design translate with ease into the fine construction of each garment and shoe.
Clark began sewing at the tender age of 12 after years of observing her mother stitch her costumes. A Philadelphia native, Clark attended the Fashion Institute of Technology and later went on to manage garment development and production in a small Manhattan firm with such notable clients as J.Crew and Marc By Marc Jacobs.
Keller’s collections are usually limited in size as Clark believes that bigger isn’t always better. They are beautiful, light, and east to wear, but most of all Keller promotes an honest effort each collection, which is a rarity in fashion these days.
