After sharing a cryptic video last week Hot Chip has finally announced their new album titled Why Make Sense? following 2012’s In Our Heads. It’s out May 18th via Domino and if the first single “Huarache Lights” is any indication, it’s going to be a classic Hot Chip album full of bangers.
The album was co-produced by Mark Ralph who sat in during the recording of In Our Heads, as well as the band and they’ve also announced the release of Separate EP, a four track EP with cuts from the Why Make Sense? sessions.
The video for “Huarache Lights” was directed and produced by Andy Knowles and follows the beat and Alexis Taylor’s vocals through a light installation which was inspired by a similar one by Robert Bell. To top it all off the band has announced a number of tour dates for this spring and we can only hope for a few festival dates through the summer as well.
