Tom Scott’s lat­est Spring Sum­mer look­book has a case of the Mon­days, and come on, we’ve all been there before, haven’t we? Scram­bling to find the per­fect out­fit du jour — comb­ing the depths of your closet for the per­fect out­fit, tak­ing a break to water the plants or have some­thing to drink. If we counted the num­ber of out­fits we try on in the morn­ing before finally fig­ur­ing out what to wear we’d prob­a­bly have at least a lookbook’s worth of dif­fer­ent out­fits, some days more than oth­ers I’m sure!

Tom Scott’s designs are just the per­fect thing to pull on in the morn­ing to make your out­fit pop. His beau­ti­ful day-glow pinks last sea­son were an absolute must, and this com­ing sea­son it will be that gor­geous cut out dress and ruffly tank top. A Penn­syl­va­nia native, Scott learned to hand-knit and cro­chet from his grand­mother, who was a Scot­tish lace maker.

Scott stud­ied tex­tile design in Philadel­phia and later trans­ferred to the Scot­tish Col­lege of Tex­tiles where he obtained a degree in knits. After stints work­ing as a free­lance designer for Calvin Klein and Ralph Lau­ren Col­lec­tion, Scott launched his own line of knit acces­sories in 2001, adding cloth­ing in 2003. He later was awarded the Ecco Domani Fash­ion Foun­da­tion Award in 2007 and in 2008 was named a final­ist for the Inter­na­tional Wool­mark Prize, result­ing in an exhi­bi­tion of work at the Palais de Tokyo in Paris. This past Sep­tem­ber Scott opened up his very first flag­ship store in Manhattan’s Lower East Side where he is based.

This sea­son Scott’s unusual yet wear­able designs take the cut out trend to the next level while still man­ag­ing to main­tain a fem­i­nine sil­hou­ette. By plac­ing the wide selec­tion of mod­els, (which is nice for a change since most look­books this sea­son cen­tre on only one or two mod­els), in var­i­ous house­hold places the clothes seem even more wear­able and com­fort­able. I espe­cially love all the old fash­ioned kitchen items and bath­room shots! You’ve done it again lassie!
