We’re only days away from the release of Crystal Castles’ new album Amnesty (I). Out this Friday on Casablanca Records, this LP marks founding member Ethan Kath and new vocalist Edith Frances’ first collaborative effort together since former vocalist Alice Glass’ departure from the group two years ago. Despite the new lineup, the tracks we’ve heard from Amnesty (I) so far – “Concrete,” “Frail,” and “Char” – haven’t strayed far from the classic Crystal Castles formula we’ve come to know over the years.
Their new track “Fleece” is a glitchy, mad, punk-thrashing electro-clash track for you to knife up some feather pillows and guzzle down sacrificial blood-red strawberry juice concentrate. Frances seamlessly assumes the mantle of dynamic electro bloghouse vocalist and insures that Crystal Castles’ legacy will remain intact.
