Yesterday in Shanghai we had the pleasure of attending the Converse Counter Climate event and launch festivities at a boutique hotel called The Waterhouse at the South Bund. Previewing the collection earlier in the day, we had the chance to take a first look at the new Shield Canvas collection including the Chuck II, Selene, and Jack Purcell silhouettes, as well as the waterproof apparel collection.

Particular collection highlights were the weatherized Chuck II and Selene sneakers done in an interesting brocade textile for both men and women, as well as a fully rubberized Jack Purcell high top with tonal detailing on the toe cap and midsole. For apparel the collection featured a series of lightweight rain jackets as well as a heavier duty rubberized poncho and fishtail parka, and a handful of backpacks in matching colourways.

Following the preview and dinner at a Yunaan restaurant Lost Heaven we headed back to The Waterhouse for a star studded party featuring a rooftop performance by South Korean indie heartthrob Oh Hyuk of the band Hyukoh followed by a DJ set in the courtyard.

Check out our photos from the preview and party below and head to our SnapChat & IG Stories for a behind the scenes look now.
