Canadian Music Festival 2011

With all the fuss about Coachella last week, we forgot to mention how excited we are about Canadian Music Week fast approaching in March! With headliners like Janelle Monáe and Janet Jackson among the over 800 other bands playing across the five night festival, it’s Toronto’s chance to shine!

Aside from Osheaga, CMW is a festival close to home we look forward to every year and 2011′s line-up is pretty darn alright if you ask us! Although this years line up is feeling a little heavier on mainstream artists, there are still tons of hidden gems and we’re probably most excited to see Chateau Marmont, The Balconies, and Miracle Fortress. Not to mention many of our local favourites like Brave Station, Dinosaur Bones, Styrofoam Ones, Hooded Fang, Dora Alexander, DVAS, Isis, Make your exit, OPOPO, as well as Russian Futurists, Yukon Blonde, Zeus, Rich Aucoin, Hot Panda, Parlovr, and Cuff the Duke.
