It always gives me great pleasure to know that other people out there in the world are deeply and passionately in love with Nike sneakers, to the point that it carries over into their professional life. Whether it be origami simulacra of the iconic shoes, or pieces of discarded technology Nike sneakers have left their mark on our cultural conscious. There is no better example of this then Gabriel Dishaw, a junk-metal guru who turns trash into artwork. His most recent pieces were inspired by his love of Nike shoes, as he created five different styles of kicks, including dunks and high tops salvaged from computers, typewriters, and metal scraps. Each unqiue piece takes up to several weeks to complete one pair of shoes and comes with an accompanying carrying case for storage. The pair shown above, entitled Blazer Pentium 1.0, named for Intel chips, weighs 15 pounds.
Very Cool…!
